With technology at the heart of everything it does, Capital.com offers smart features such as real-time market data, advanced charting tools, and a responsive mobile application for trading on the move. It aims to provide retail traders with seamless access to global financial instruments, providing 3,000+ markets across multiple asset classes.

In 2023, the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 ranked Capital.com as one of 50 fastest-growing tech companies across the Middle East and Cyprus.

VP Capital no longer holds investments in any other companies aside from Capital.com.

About Us

VP Capital is the principal investment firm of IT entrepreneur and businessman Viktor Prokopenya. Viktor founded VP Capital in 2012 with the aim of scaling and growing companies at the forefront of technology and innovation.

While VP Capital initially focused on investments across artificial intelligence, fintech, and other advanced technology sectors, the firm has since streamlined its strategy to concentrate exclusively on Capital.com.

From 2012 until this strategic shift, VP Capital supported a number of cutting-edge companies, working with founders to develop breakthrough technologies and standout products.

Now, VP Capital’s sole focus is on Capital.com, where it plays an active role in driving the platform’s continued expansion, innovation, and market leadership. The firm takes a board position to ensure deep involvement and long-term value creation.

Team

Founder — Viktor Prokopenya

Viktor Prokopenya

Viktor Prokopenya is a serial entrepreneur with an eye for identifying market-shaping, disruptive technology ventures.

He has a strong track record in marrying best-in-class technology with highly motivated teams of people to create outstanding outcomes. Viktor is a pioneer in the European fintech space, most notably as the founder of Capital.com, one of the world’s fastest-growing trading platforms with offices across the UK, Europe, Australia and the Middle East.

Originally from Belarus, Viktor is now a British citizen and keen philanthropist. He is a visiting professor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Leeds and is passionate about supporting financial literacy, sustainability and talent development.

Through his foundation, Viktor has donated over USD3m to the victims of the Russia-Ukraine war and also champions a number of global government initiatives designed to promote talent and education in leading tech hubs including the UK and the UAE.

As well as being a qualified lawyer, Viktor Prokopenya holds a master’s degree in Finance from Northeastern University, a doctoral degree in business administration from the Swiss Business School, a master’s degree in Internet Marketing, and a bachelor’s and a master’s qualifications in computer science.

Nikolai Markovnik

Nikolai is CEO at VP Capital. Since joining the company in 2016, Nikolai has been instrumental in driving VP Capital’s portfolio companies – namely Capital.com – from its early beginnings as a start-up into the global business it is today. With an aptitude for building talent and growing businesses in the high-growth fintech space, Nikolai has successfully helmed numerous core functions ranging from legal and operations to growth and marketing. He has more than 10 years of experience in business growth and investments and holds a PhD in Law.
